Beef Jerky Made in the Power Air Fryer Oven Spicy Teriyaki Beef Jerky
Beef Jerky is lean meat that has been trimmed of fat, cut into strips, and then dried in an oven or dehydrator like the power air fryer oven to prevent it from spoiling.
Beef jerky is high in protein and lower in fat than many other snack foods. That makes it an ideal between-meals snack, especially when you’re trying to lose weight. Beef Jerky can be made using a rub or marinade. Salt or soy sauce is used to assist in the drying or curing process which helps prevent bacteria from developing on the meat.
If prepared properly and sealed in air tight containers or Foodsaver vacuum sealed bags beef jerky can be stores for many months.
In this recipe I make a Spicy Teriyaki beef jerky although you can forgo the cayenne and black pepper and add in some sweet BBQ sauce instead. Either way this beef teriyaki will have great flavor. In this video I am using then Power Air Fryer Oven to dehydrate the teriyaki beef jerky but you can also use a conventional oven to accomplish the same task. Experiment with some of your favorite flavors and seasonings and post your results in the comment section below.

Ingredients:
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp onion powder
4 tbsp lite soy sauce
2 tbsp teriyaki
1/4 cup barbecue sauce (for a sweeter flavor)
1 lb beef round (sliced 1/4 to 3/8 inch thick)
Prep:
Cut the meat into 1 1/2 – 2 inch wide strips
Mix all seasoning together and brush it over each piece of meat
Then place the beef in plastic freezer bag seal bag and let sit in refrigerator for 6 hours or over night to marinade.
Next wipe the meat dry and place the beef strips on baking rack in a single layer keeping them separated.
Now place the racks in power air fryer oven (or conventional oven)
Set the Power Air Fryer Oven to 150°F for 4 hours (if using Conventional oven preheat to 165°F)
rotate the racks every 2 hours
Remove the Spicy Teriyaki Beef Jerky from the oven and let cool.
Cut up in to 2 inch strips and store using Foodsaver Vacuum bags or air tight containers.
Enjoy!
