I show a homemade recipe for making bourbon marinated beef jerky and finish it off with some Mango Habanero Texas Rib Candy glaze. This was some wonderful tasting jerky!

Bourbon Beef Jerky Recipe:

2 1/2 pounds Eye of Round Roast sliced 1/4 inch thick
2 Cups Root Beer
1 Cup Bourbon
1 Cup Pineapple Juice
1/2 Cup Frank’s Red Hot Sauce
1/2 Cup Dark Brown Sugar
1/3 Cup Honey
1/4 Cup Worchestershire Sauce
1 Tbsp Liquid Smoke
1 Tbsp Texas Pete Hot Sauce
1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
1 Tbsp Onion Powder
1/2 tsp Chili Powder
1/2 tsp Chipotle Powder
1/2 tsp Mexican Oregano
3 Tbsp Black Pepper
2 Tbsp Salt

**Note** I would add more salt or worchestershire sauce or perhaps some soy sauce for sodium. Also, If you don’t want to add the Rib Candy glaze, add more Franks Sauce or Srirachi sauce for added heat.

Glaze used at end of cook: Texas Rib Candy Mango Habanero

Combine all ingredients into a large bowl and whisk until all ingredients are mixed well and combined. Add beef and cover with plastic film. Let marinate overnight or up to 24 hrs.

Cook jerky on your smoker or in your oven at 150F – 160F (or as low as your oven will go) for 4-6 hours or until done to your liking. I glazed the jerky with Texas Rib Candy the last hour (30 mins on each side).

Pull jerky off the heat and let cool for 30-45 mins. Enjoy!!!

**NOTE** The Texas Rib Candy has sugar in it, so the jerky will likely only last a few weeks if refrigerated. Of course, it probably won’t last that long because you would have eaten it all before then!!
