I like beef jerky. And know there are all sorts of recipes to make it, but ground beef jerky is just so easy. It does call for a jerky gun but the gun is worth it. Plus we will use it again when I show you how to make the Jerky Dog Treats.
A dehydrator is also an investment but once again I think that it is worth it. you can use it for fruits, veggies, herbs all sorts of things.
Ground Beef Jerky
4 pounds ground beef
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon sea salt
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
1 tablespoon teriyaki sauce
½ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
Mix all the ingredients together.
Chill 6 – 8 hours, or over night.
JERKY GUN METHOD: Load the gun with beef mixture. Extrude beef unto dehydrator racks.
PLASTIC WRAP METHOND: roll the beef mixture between to pieces of plastic wrap. Until it is ¼ inch thick. Cut into strips. Place on dehydrator racks.
Set the dehydrator on the recommended setting for meat jerky and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for time.
When the jerky is done allow to cool completely and store in an airtight container.
