Make your own beef jerky at home with an added Italian twist. The beef jerky marinade has Italian dressing, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and liquid smoke to capture that umami and smoked flavor.

1¼ lb top round, bottom round, or eye of the round, all fat completely trimmed & sliced into ¼-inch thick
1 cup Italian dressing
½ cup soda water
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp ground black pepper
2 tsp hot sauce
½ tsp garlic salt
½ tsp liquid smoke

0:09 Cut the beef into 1-inch strips.
0:23 In a large bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients and whisk until the sugar has melted.
1:04 Add the beef strips and toss to combine. Cover and refrigerate for at least overnight.
1:30 The next day, preheat your oven to 175 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with paper towels.
1:37 Drain the beef strips, then place onto your lined baking sheet and pat dry.
2:10 Gently place your beef strips on the oven rack, inches apart from each other.
2:18 Roast until beef strips are dry, roughly 6 hours. To test if it’s done, you should be able to bend the beef strips all the way without breaking apart, and you should hear a snap once pulled apart.
2:29 Allow your beef strips to cool completely at room temperature. Serve once cooled down, or cover and store in a dry cupboard away from sunlight.
