To help your aging cat feel cozy, place a warmed tile under his bed. You can do this simply with a terra cotta tile measuring a square foot. Heated in your oven around 200 degrees, it can be ready in as little as 15 minutes. You should wrap it with a towel and place it under the bed your cat uses. If necessary, change this out every few hours.
Cats can use their claws to destroy furniture and other parts of the house. If you find your cat tearing up things around your home, buy a scratching post or cat tower. Redirect your cat to the scratching post when they start to go after your furniture. Catnip can be put in the posts or on the tower to help train the cat to use it.
